LTAR Leadership Annual Meeting

We are looking forward to hosting the LTAR Leadership meeting at Archbold Biological Station on Nov 27 -30.
Registration without lodging or tours is $150. This price includes the use of the facilities, snacks and coffee, and dinner at Buck Island Ranch ($29/person).
Lunches: please bring cash, we will fill out orders each day and lunches will be in the Learning Center
Breakfast: On your own. If you stay at Archbold, these are cottages with small kitchens. If you stay at Holiday Inn there is free continental breakfast.
Snacks: In the meeting room we will have coffee, fruit bowl and other snacks available for breakfast, mid-morning, and mid-afternoon.
Lodging is $55/person for a shared room at Archbold, see below for more details.
- Nov. 27: Travel day. Arrive at Archbold Biological Station if lodging here 123 Main Dr., Venus, FL 33960 or at the Holiday Inn in Lake Placid.
- Nov 28: Meeting day. Dinner at Buck Island Ranch
- Nov 29: Meeting day. Dinner in Lake Placid, FL (on your own)
- Nov 30: Optional tour day and check-out of Archbold lodging if applicable.
7-8 am: Optional Florida Scrub Jay tour on the nature trails
8-8:30 am: drive to Buck Island Ranch, 350 Buck Island Ranch Road, Lake Placid, FL 33850
8:30 – 10:30 am: Swamp Buggy Tour of Archbold’s Buck Island Ranch, Common Experiment, Agroecology research (hydrology, carbon, biodiversity, ecosystem services)
10:30 – 12 pm: Drive to University of Florida Range Cattle Research and Education Center

1- 3pm: Tour of RCREC, Common Experiment, with Dr. Maria Silveira
3pm: End of meeting
Details about Lodging at Archbold:
We have four cottages allocated to this event, all have small kitchens with refrigerator and stove. The cottages range from 2-4 rooms and each room has at least 2 twin beds. There are a few rooms with Queen beds so please contact Betsey Boughton at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to be assigned. Rooms will be assigned on a first come first served basis. The cost for a shared room is $55/night.

You must agree to the terms in our Release of Liability by entering your name on the registration form when prompted, stating that you have read and understand the terms and agree to the conditions. The person entering his/her name on the registration form as the parent or guardian of a minor child acknowledges that they are also agreeing to the terms of our Release of Liability as the parent or guardian of listed minor child/children.
